Kieran P. Holohan is a contract lawyer and litigator. His areas of expertise include the writing and negotiation of construction, design, management and financial contracts as well as litigation of complex commercial matters of all types, with a concentration in construction disputes, criminal defense litigation and general civil litigation. Kieran has successfully represented clients at the State and Federal level. While an accomplished and hard nosed litigator, Kieran also successfully represents his clients at mediation and arbitration of disputes ranging from tens of thousands of dollars to those involving multi-millions of dollars.

Kieran represents clients throughout the New York Metro area in commercial matters from company formation, through management of day to day matters, disputes and ultimately to settlement or verdict. His expertise allows him to form a company, draft its contracts, negotiate matters in dispute and ultimately pursue payment of proper claims or defend against those without merit. While an accomplished litigator, Kieran’s first goal is to assure that his client is properly represented and advised so that his client is placed in the best possible position. Kieran accomplishes this through a combination of hard work, diligent research and a common sense business approach.

Among Kieran’s many commercial clients are public bodies, real estate developers, contractors, design professionals, large commercial landowners, restaurants, homeowners, insurance companies, motion picture companies and many others.

Kieran defends his criminal clients with the same diligent and dogged approach that he applies to his commercial and civil matters. As a veteran of the courtroom with numerous verdicts, his experience proves invaluable in serving his clients.

Prior to entering private practice in 2003, Kieran spent over nine years as a prosecutor in the Kings County District Attorney's Office where he obtained significant trial experience as a trial attorney, senior trial attorney and ultimately as Deputy Bureau Chief. His experience at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office allowed Kieran to litigate criminal matters ranging from Petit Larcenies to Murder. It was his time spent as a prosecutor that allows him to serve his criminal clients with the highest level of expertise. His management experience as a Deputy Bureau Chief allows Kieran to properly, efficiently and expertly evaluate a criminal matter and deftly advise his clients. His trial experience allows Kieran to fight for his clients’ rights and freedom with confidence brought from almost thirteen years fighting in the courtrooms of New York City.

Prior to forming Gonzalez Oberlander & Holohan LLP with Andrew Gonzalez and Bert Oberlander, Kieran served as the chief trial counsel for the Construction and Environmental litigation boutique firm of John E. Osborn, PC.

Kieran has also appeared several times on Court TV as a trial analyst.

Kieran earned his law degree from St. John's University, School of Law, in 1994. While in law school, he served as an intern for the Honorable Joseph M. McLaughlin, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, New York and as a law clerk for the Grievance Committee for the Tenth Judicial District, New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, 2nd Department.

Mr. Holohan received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. John's University in 1990 where he majored in Government and Politics.

Mr. Holohan is admitted to the bars of the state of New York and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Federal Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
